Post-it® Note Parking Lot
Keeping Kids Accountable
By using Post-it® Note Parking Lot during lessons, students are called on to actively participate by sharing with their classmates. In many classrooms situations, shy or quiet students may not feel comfortable verbalizing their ideas or opinions. However, using a Post-it® Note Parking Lot gives students the opportunity to share their thinking with others in a more comfortable way. Simply have students use Post-it® Super Sticky Notes to write down their ideas and stick it to their assigned spot. Additionally, the Post-it® Note Parking Lot provides teachers with a better understanding of where students are, what they are taking away from lessons, and where they still need help.

- Create a Post-it® Note parking lot that has a numbered space for each student.

- Post a question, quote, or sentence starter for students to complete independently.
- Hand out one Post-it® Super Sticky Note to every student to complete their work.
- Once completed, students will post their Post-it® Super Sticky Note in their numbered spot.

- Teachers can then use the Post-it® App to take a photo of the board. Using the Post-it® App allows teachers to save a photo of the student work in the app or as a PDF that can be saved on their computer or printed for their assessment binder; thus, allowing the parking lot to be cleared and used for another question/lesson.
This quick and effective assessment tool allows teachers to easily check-in with all students in order to guide instruction and with the use of the Post-it® App allows teachers to save student work in one convenient place.
